Box model
Every element is a rectangle made of content, padding, border and margin, from the inside out.
Definition
Every element is a rectangle made of content, padding, border and margin, from the inside out.
Use case
It explains why a 200px wide card with 20px padding becomes 240px wide, and why box-sizing set to border-box is the usual fix.
In Figma
Padding and strokes behave like CSS padding and border. Figma has no margin, so outer spacing comes from auto layout gaps.
